WHAT IS WRITTEN

Then said I, See, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,

Today’s article seeks to enlighten us on the potency of written words in guaranteeing us success in life. Success, which is synonymous to prosperity, is a revealed will of God for us as documented in the scripture.

God told Joshua – the successor of Moses – to do certain things so he could have good success. Apostle John, in his letter to Gaius said, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as your soul prosper.” Did you notice that Apostle John said that he wished Gaius prosper above all things? The truth is, no matter what we do for God, if we do not succeed in it, there really is no reward for us. This makes it necessary for us to consider how we can attain success in endeavours of life.

“What is written” is capable of granting us success in life. There is a story that comes to mind, it is the account of God putting the spirit on Moses upon seventy elders of the children of Israel. Moses complained to God that leading the Israelites was a burden, and that he needed a bail out. So God requested he brought seventy elders before the tabernacle so he could take of the spirit upon him and put on them so they could bear the burden with him.

On the set day, only sixty eight people came before the tabernacle, and God put the spirit upon them and they all began to prophesy. Unexpectedly, the other two elders – Medad and Edad – that didn’t come out but remained in the camp – for whatever reason, I don’t know – were found prophesying also.

Scripture accounts that they prophesied – which was a confirmation that the spirit rested on them – only because their names were written with the seventy. Wow! Can you imagine why they didn’t come out? Probably they choose to be disobedient to the call, or they felt they were not fit to stand before God least he struck them dead: none of these reasons is tenable. Under the law, that was disobedience and punishable by default. Irrespective of this circumstance, they got the blessing only because their names were written among those that would be blessed.

The scriptures is replete with so many good things that has been written concerning you, I make bold to tell you that irrespective of your experiences, faults, weaknesses, etc. you qualify for those blessings, simply because your name has been written against them. Believe this account and claim every blessing that you can find in God’s word – they are all yours.

Your life is sure to go in the direction of the positive things that God wrote about you in his word and in heaven, and the positive things that you write about yourself. Jesus said in Matthew 26:24, “The son of man goes as it is written of him . . .” This shall be your testimony in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
